Thinking More Simply

So yeah, I’m one of those blog writers who feels like they have to map everything out beforehand.  I have to have a new, interesting topic to write about and be able to make the time to write a well thought out and decent sized post.

I really need to get over that because I really like to write, and placing these big essay-size expectations on myself isn’t helping me to reach my goals any quicker.

So I promise to you all that I’m going to stop over-thinking things…and just post. It’ll work out alot better for both of us!

So here’s a catchup as to what’s going on with me.

*  At this moment I’m watching game 2 of the World Series.  Pulling for Detroit to win but we’re down a game already to the Giants.  My main team, the Oakland Athletics, did super surprisingly well this season, making it all the way to the Postseason and winning the American League West division (stealing it from the Rangers by one game).  Never been prouder to be an A’s fan!

*  My ’99 Subaru Legacy finally forced me into the decision to get another vehicle.  Apparently, it had came from the north and had quite a bit of a rust issue underneath.  Already had a catalytic convertor issue that I was going to have to look into at some point and was going to cost me a decent amount to fix.  Then my brake fluid line decided to break. And while it’s an easy fix, the amount of rust around it would make it a very delicate and possibly tricky situation.  Altogether the fixes were going to cost me more than the car is worth.  Loved it, and it’s still a good little car. Just it’ll suit someone now that can do the fixes and has the time.

Ended up moving to a ’02 Mazda Protege 5 and am really in love with this car as well.  Totally fits my personality and feels alot like my Legacy.  All pluses in my opinion. ^^

*  My training is going super well.  If you haven’t kept up with my progress, check out my Bodyspace link to the right.  Or better yet, click here to check it out if you’d like.  Possibly looking to compete early next year or maybe the end of next year.  so still got a lot to do but I’m well on my way.

- So at this point it’s the bottom of the 8th and the Giants are up 1-0 with bases loaded and one out.  We needs a double play… *sigh*

Their 11th in 2011, What a Ride!

Who would have thought the Cardinals would have come from where they were to being the World Series Champions.  Starting from a wild card spot that was supposed to have the Atlanta Braves’ name on it, surpassing them, and then coming from a 3-2 game deficit and stealing from the Rangers what was first thought to be theirs to win.  Well deserved guys!

And congratulations to David Freese for getting the MVP award.  His walk-off home-run in the 11th inning secured them the win they desperately needed in game 6.

I do want to give my respects to the Texas Rangers as they suffered a second defeat at the hands of another team.  Despite my feelings about CJ Wilson, they are a solid team and I respect a number of the players.

Michael Young, Josh Hamilton, Mike Napoli, and especially Nolan Ryan.  I grew up watching that man pitch and it was almost heartbreaking for me to see his expressions during those last innings.  I really think that if the pitching staff had not had their meltdown in game 6, they would be the champions right now.

So my hat is off to them as well.

Once again, congrats to the Cardinals and to a great series to watch!

Poor Scotty…and CJ…Not So Much…

I’m a very happy camper right now.  CJ Wilson took the loss for the Rangers last night with a 3-2 score in favor of the Cardinals.  Go birds!   Now with CJ taking that loss I can rest easy with however the World Series may go.   Bitter and hold a grudge….never, not me…  >>

On a side not Scotty McCreery sung the National Anthem to open it up and even though I didn’t see the performance originally, I ended up hearing about it on my way back from the gym this morning on the radio.

Now just to clarify, although I’m not necessarily a Scotty fan (as I’m not really a country fan), I still think he’s a talented and hardworking kid.  I totally think he deserved his win on Idol and I think he’s got a decent career ahead of him.

Now with that said, back to the issue at hand.  Mentioned earlier, he opened the Series with the National Anthem and like any celebrity who has done it, he ended up with a flub that has made the news.  Poor guy… he was focusing so much on his intonation and his “twang” that he ended up saying “No Jose” instead of “O Say”.  AND in front of the First Lady Michelle Obama nonetheless.

I am tickled though that he got to sing the anthem for the Series knowing that he is a big fan of the sport of baseball.  That in itself is a great honor for any fan and I’m glad the honor was given to an authentic fan as well.  Just wish it had gone better for him.

Blah, the two teams I least wanted to go to the World Series. I guess I’m rooting for the Cardinals by default just because I’m indifferent about them.

I also think I’ve said enough about my dislike of CJ Wilson on the Rangers so I hope the birds take away another series win from them.

You know I’d actually like Texas were it not for CJ and his arrogance (or his lack of humility, whichever you prefer). Point to ponder there.
