Just found out the other day that my newest trainer (Kirsti) at the gym has decided to step down from her position. This is the second trainer I’ve been through in the past 5 months or so. My first trainer, John, left to take a job closer to his home on the west side of Nashville. When she was assigned to me after his departure, I knew she was pretty new and raw to the whole thing and wasn’t as aggressive as she needed to be. I remember noting to the beau that I didn’t think she was gonna last very long but I’d give her the benefit of the doubt.
I think what did her in was the fact that the gym’s training director is super unorganized. She ended up taking on a ton of extra responsibilities secretarially (as his “assistant”, I call it lackey) as well as taking on all the trainees since she was now the only trainer on staff. She was waffling under all the stress and was pulling a ton of long hours. I don’t blame her from moving on, as I would have been wary of coming on to such a predicament and getting dumped on like that.
The only question now is whether i need to cancel my training package considering there’s no one on staff to train. Well, that’s pretty self-explanatory, I probably should because I don’t know how the training director is gonna keep me reeled in without the most important ingredient.. I was giving him a few days to give me a call to set things in motion but I have yet to receive that magic conversation. I’ll see him at the gym tomorrow and talk things over. Craziness!
Anyways, I think I’m ripe for moving on my own now. If Clint from the gym can make the change from consultant to trainer for me I won’t blink an eye. He’s really good and motivational and I’ll take him in a heartbeat.
